Radio promo for Winter Concert

bulletConductor, Carl Johnson was interviewed by KDFR Radio station (91.3 FM ) about the Winter Concert. The interview will air Friday (Feb. 1) at 3 a.m., 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Join us to brighten your winter season!

February 3, 2013, Sunday.
Concert begins at 2:00 p.m. in Sheslow Auditorium.
Pre-concert talk begins at 1:00 p.m. at Sheslow.

Sheslow is one block north of University Avenue, just west of 25th Street, and is attached to the Old Main building on the Drake University campus.

Parking is available in the big lot bounded by 24th-25th Streets (east-west) and Forest -Carpenter (north-south). Click here for a map to Sheslow.

Come chase away the winter blahs with stirring music from the genius of Richard Wagner. Born in 1813, we celebrate his 200th birthday with this concert. Our all-Wagnerian concert will present some of the thrilling and historic music that he composed.

A Sit-In Adventure: Ever wished you could sit in the middle of an orchestra? Let's do it! Continuing a tradition started several years ago, we invite students to sit in with the orchestra for dress rehearsal. Dress rehearsal starts at 9:30 a.m., the Saturday before the Sunday concert. Dress rehearsal and concert are at Sheslow Auditorium at Drake University. Students may sit on stage in their chosen instrumental section. Parents, your children will love it!. We orchestra members love it! Just show up and we will find students a place to sit. If sitting in the audience seats is preferred, that's fine too. Come and sit with us!
